Cape Coast, Ghana – As part of its unwavering commitment to empowering young people through education, leadership, and community engagement, Share the Smile Ophelia Foundation has taken a significant step towards expanding its impact by engaging the management of the University of Cape Coast (UCC) on the establishment of a Student Campus Wing.
The Foundation’s leadership met with the Vice-Chancellor and senior authorities of the University of Cape Coast to discuss the introduction of the Campus Wing as one of the Foundation’s flagship youth empowerment initiatives under its Smile Education programme.
The meeting focused on developing a collaborative framework that will ensure the initiative is tailored to meet the needs and aspirations of students while creating opportunities for leadership development, volunteerism, mentorship, career growth, and social impact. Both parties explored practical ways of integrating the programme into the university community to maximize its benefits for students.
The Vice-Chancellor and members of the university management expressed their appreciation for the Foundation’s vision of investing in young people beyond the classroom. They pledged their full support for the initiative and reaffirmed the University’s commitment to partnering with organizations that promote student development, innovation, and community service.
The proposed Student Campus Wing is expected to serve as a platform for students to become ambassadors of positive change by participating in community outreach, educational campaigns, leadership training, advocacy programmes, and volunteer activities. It will also provide students with opportunities to develop practical skills, build professional networks, and contribute meaningfully to national development.
As one of the Foundation’s core programmes, Smile Education continues to champion equitable access to quality education and youth empowerment through scholarships, mentorship, educational support, leadership development, and strategic partnerships with educational institutions. The establishment of campus wings aligns with the Foundation’s broader vision of nurturing compassionate, skilled, and socially responsible young leaders who will positively transform their communities.
This engagement with the University of Cape Coast marks another important milestone in Share the Smile Ophelia Foundation’s mission to inspire hope, create opportunities, and empower the next generation.
