The Share the Smile Ophelia Foundation recently organized a community counseling outreach as part of its ongoing commitment in promoting gender equity and building stronger, more inclusive communities. The outreach brought together community members to engage in meaningful conversations on the importance of positive masculinity, mutual respect, and shared responsibility in fostering peaceful homes and societies.
During the session, men were encouraged to embrace positive masculinity by demonstrating leadership through respect, compassion, accountability, and responsible decision-making. Facilitators emphasized that true strength is reflected in protecting the rights and dignity of others, supporting families, rejecting all forms of gender-based violence, and serving as positive role models within their communities.
The counseling outreach also highlighted the critical role that men and boys play in advancing gender equity. Participants were encouraged to become active allies in creating environments where women and girls can access equal opportunities, participate in decision-making, and live free from discrimination and abuse.
The interactive program provided a safe platform for participants to discuss social challenges affecting families and communities while exploring practical solutions that promote healthy relationships, effective communication, and peaceful conflict resolution.
